Branding yourself in this digital age.

A rising tide lifs all boats

In any aspect of life ,patience commitment ,consistency ,genuiness play a major role.

Socialmedia branding is not  different .

Being patient upfront pays off in the long run.

Some companies play the game well some just do not get it .

Mind you there are tons of ways  to  make money online but I will save that for another post.

Today  I want to drill down into the concepts of branding and what I think it means .

My interpitation might be  different from your interpitation .

Never the less we have come here to learn and grow not debate on points .

So we are looking at the big picture like how can we build up customer good -will to improve .

How can we be the brands that people trust.

Well first of all Social media is a peoples game not a numbers game (Darren Rowse)

I know agencies  have deadlines and agreements.

Some of them operate in a military like fashion to meet  these deadlines and as a fact neglect the customer.

And No flexibility and freedom concerning emloyees.

So therfore workers are trained and being micro managed.

Personally I have had time to re evaluate and assess my view of branding .

Over the short few years I have been online I to had make major adjustments

I am still learning to this date and as such will forever be a student of the game .

when I look back at where I was compared to now I have   come a long way .

I have had my share of failures on my journey and I still do up to this date.

However I have taken a look at what is going on in the arena  from different points of view.

Note with caution ;anything I say is not intended to cause harm .However I will not bite my words to sooth any ones ego including mines.

 

Lets get into the heart and soul of this post .

Every business in this day and time is marketing and advertising but in different ways.

There are brands using indirect methods likevlogging ,blogging,podcasting,webinars .

Ralph Smart said it best “,people do not like being told what to buy they like making  choices”

Companies making the biggest impact on peoples lives are the ones building relationships, giving value not being intrusive with pop up ads ,products services .

This brings me to my next point .

Sell the content.In other words write content that your audience wants then use it to  guage the interaction.

That is why I produce and distribute content on a daily basis .

Content sells because people like buying into experiences.

And It does not cost a dime to document and  distribute it .

Recognize you have the leverage.

Content is the gate way to sales.

Lead with valuable content and doors will open.

Short term thinking and lack of patience is killing brands .

The consumer is looking for good solutions and service .

Sharing content is the most feasible,logical way to close the gap.

If more brands were willing to adopt a content marketing strategy there sales would increase.

When you think of Branding what do you think of it as ?

Mind you; company goals and people should align .

My definition is as follows

1. Engaging
2. Listening
3. Giving value
4. Marrying the customer
5. Innovation
6. Advertising based on wants

The goal is to document, test ,tweak based on customer feed back.

Rinse, repeat, make adjustments if need be .

One of The biggest mistakes brands make is to  assume what the customer wants .

Those   assumptions are costly .

The communication has to go beyond sales and promotions .

Make the consumer feel appreciated.

People like to buy into exceptional experiences.

People are more likely to attatch to brands that have a intimate connection with them .

Brands need to take note that people have emotions.

So any business that connects on a intamite level is going to win over people.

Psychology is a big factor in the world .

Being in business is no different .

The brands that are in the game for the long haul will out shine the brands that are in It soley for the money.

I want you to listen carefully and follow my instructions.

Go into business to serve and solve .Serving and solving opens the doors to sales .

Lead with value and make the sale on the back end.

Stay with me .

There is no time limit as to when some   buys or sells  so you have to be patient.

However it is likely that you can make a sale on your first encounter.

That is why it is important to build brand loyalty .

People refer people to businesses.So if you have built up customer good Will friends and associates of customers will buy from you too.

That is what I mean when I said you can make a sales on the first transaction .

That is the power of the  the law of attraction .

Reverse engineer the process .

Take the attention and intentions and place it at the feet of your customer .

It is Time to get up and out of this selfish mindset. It is killing your business.

If you involve the people in the process your agency will. grow.

Make the situation universally beneficial.

Yes you need money to run your business but understand that you have influence over people .

You Will experience sudden changes if you apply my methods .

More- over trust the process ,innovate ,learn and your 0rsales Will grow.

As brand strategist I have learned and experienced  a lot on my way.

I am taking it to the next level to study human behavior so that I can incorporate something more powerful into my marketing .

This visión is about good-will and longterm thinking.

I had to train myself to think like this .I am not expecting you to change overnight .

Hoewever I do want to see you making an effort to implement the techniques mentioned in this post.

Transform your branding plan.

I am not saying that you should do a 360 unless it is necessary . Maybe you might need to tweak.

When it is necessary do not hesitate .

The more you delay the process of change the deeper you are digging the hole .

Close the gap between yourself and the customer .

Price points are just one aspect of the equation.

Advertising and branding is a 365, seven days around the clock game .

The process is on going .There is lots of noise in the digital landscape .

But you can cut through the noise and make sales.

Chasing sales and customers is just not the way to go.

Lead with value and intent .

In other words you should know what your customer wants.

But make sure that your goals align with your  buyers.

Think solution orientated .When you lead with value and intent the company will attain its sales goals .

Help the customer to help you.

Leading  with value  speeds up the cycle .

What you are doing  is guiding the consumer to make a decision.

Not all transactions are made on snap decisions .

So be mindful.

You have to follow up .The money is in the follow up.

I have left a few dollars on the table simply because I did not follow up with buyers and none buyers.

This is why it is good to be surfing the web and communicating .

You see the brands surfing the web jumping  in on conversation adding  some value then are  brands that  gets notoriety.

If you have a team of staff around you give them permission to surf the web and reach out to customers.

By doing that you are giving them freedom to advertise and take care of customer complaints .

You have to learn to trust your staff too.The indvidualistic mindset has to be contained

Vayner media which is  owned by internet icon Garry V has a team of dedicated staff  promoting content and engaging with people.

Even I am going to surf the web When I finishin editing .

The web is a hot place and there are many opportunities for your brand to grow .

You have to put the work and time  if you want to reap the rewards .

It might not be easy but it is well worth it.

You will be thankful that you did take my advice on this.

Think people and solutions and things will work out.
