Social media is a breath of fresh air .Online entrepreneurs are popping up on the scene left right and center . The opportunities are ripe for the taking but a lot of us are not capitalizing .

Before the evasion of  social media businesses were able to to lead with products  .Now days The relationship is what the end consumer yearns for  from brands .

The story that you create is the ad the customers want to engage with before making purchases .

There will always be a buyers and sellers  market. More over Your approach makes the world of a  difference .  If  you lead with value instead of products and services you can make more sales on the back end .

As simple as that sounds it is surprising to see so many brands over look the technique .

Why be in such a hurry to pitch products ,chase people away and ruin potential long term relationships .

Change is necessary for progress because nothing remains the same for ever.

You need to be flexible and agile in today’s business world .

To keep pace with the fast changes taking place innovation is key .

I am learning and testing everyday.

How would I grow if I wasn’t learning ?

Learning is the key to success in all areas of life.

Learning people’s behaviors, likes ,dis likes, doing deep studies of the human behavior .

There  much  more to Social media than what is being taught.

I see some brands operating in a robot like fashion.

There is no charisma .

Very little engagement if any .

It is almost like I do not give a fuck about the customer but I want their  money.

And it does not work that way.

The brands that are not regimental , rigid but flexible with their employees are the ones that win.

Give your staff creative freedom .

The one man bandwagon mentality has to got to stop .

You cannot do it all on yourself .

You can accomplish more as a team.

Yes there will be people that you have to replace but there are also people that will support the vision.

The trick here is to involve your staff   in the decision making process.

You will go much further .

Give your employees the freedom to use the business accounts to engage with people online.

Right now you are keeping them in a prison.

I know what your thinking .I control the business account .

There is no way I am handing the reigns over to my employees.

With that being said I think you trying to Micro manage is your biggest mistske.

If your having doubts clarify and fix it.

If you have unproductive dis-honest workers then  by all means weed them out .

Look  how many people Apple, Amazon Google have on their payroll.

Amazon has expended all over the globe.There is no way Jeff Bezzos would have achieved this level of scale on his own .

He played his cards right.

He leveraged people .

He delegated task to others and trusted his staff.

When people feel appreciated they are likely to be more productive

But If you haunt them everyday they will not perform to their full potential.

And hinder the growth of the company..

Do you really want to hinder your growth ?

That is regressive.

I haven’t seen Bill Gates or Warren Buffett walking around micro-managing people.

Show me a company making billions of dollars with one person at the helm ?

Can you do it?

Think about it.Right now I am a solo preneur so my reach is limited.

There is only so much one person can do in a day so therefore you need staff.

I know the feeling like ( I am the boss)

Being a boss does not = Wealth.The reason why it doesn’t is because of the mindset.

I see self employed people acting and  making decisions with Money and time the same way they did when they were employees.

 

Now you see why your  thinking has to change too.

Think big.

You have to be willing to share the vision with your company .

But When it is just you you cannot go to business meetings or travel without closing down for a  time period  and lose business.

Is it really worth the headaches trying to  micro manage?

You might think that  you are saving money keeling it small and compact.

You might be saving a few dollars but at the expense  of growth.

Yes you can increase your bottom line by cutting cost.

But How much cutting do you think you can do ?

A companies survival depends on growth .

if you are not growing what are you doing ?

Take the time to think about what I am saying to you.

Only by growing can you be assured that your business will survive.

The key to growth is through technological innovation.

Yes innovation drives growth.

Businesses that do not invest in technological innovation and research are stagant and or experience severe sales declines .

It is time to modernize or go bankrupt .

Invest in new products and services .

Invest in your employees.Invest in cost saving equipment .

Some of you are running your business like your stuck in the ninties.

Take heed…the socialmedia wave is upon us.

1. Facebook
2. Amazon
3. Ebay
4. Google

Mind you .I would not turn a blind eye to what is going on in the traditional media outlets.

As marketers and business owners we have to be more creative .

Test things out . Fail if you have to .

Amazon made some bad investments along the way but look at the fortune their shareholders , controllers have amassed  .

If it wasn’t technological research and development and reinvesting everything Amazon would  have never experienced the growth we are seeing today.

There will be research projects that fail ,that is apart of the process.

Trusting your employees is going to spur growth .

So Loosen up a bit.

Do not make your workers feel like prisoners .

If you want to experience a better working environment start
trusting your employees .

Once they see you delegating task involving them in the process they will produce more.

Plus that frees up your time to do other things .

Doesn’t that sound good?

if you are anything like I was when I started my marketing journey 5 years ago that means you need to shift your thinking.

I still have to get used to delegating task .My biggest problem is  in trusting people to do the work.

The only way for me to do that is to assign them  with a task.

I had the mindset like if I wasn’t doing everything on my own I felt like I was cheating.

That is the mindset that stopped me from growing to my full potential.

It takes team work to make a brand tick.

Every part of the brand needs to function on par.

From top level management right on down to rank in file employees

Everything needs to synchronize.

And some times the smallest adjustments lead to big results .

In fact that is the case most of the time .

The problem here is that we think that we have to do outstanding things to get simple results .

In fact all we have to do is apply basic techniques

In reality some brands do not have the patience in applying the basic techniques because it requires work.

It is not like buying growth through an acquisition it is more about networking,communicating building relationships day in day out.

If there was a software we can buy to  automate the process I am sure you will do it quick.

But unfortunately for the lazy marketes people want human interaction.

This does not mean that automation is not useful .

There is a need for automation in certain aspect of business operation especially If you want to improve efficiency.

Other than that you had better be prepared to earn your right to sell to the customer otherwise you will lose out .

Do not take people for granted. There are businesses fighting hard and engaging .

Those  brands working  will be the ones  taking  market share away from you unless offcourse you have an economic moat .

I just hope that you take heed to what I am saying.

One minute you can be up the next minute you can be in turmoil .

(A prevention is better than a cure )

I could understand the fact that you are used to doing things a certain way.

But you have to break the cycle and modernize your  if you want to be successful

Business is not guaranteed to none of us.

If you are not prepared to earn your keep get up out of the game.

Take up another career .

If you are prepared to get dirty and get heavily involved in  the community you will break the cycle.

If your brand is a brand that engages  and networks , Hats off to you.

The way we play the game now is changed.

Years ago if you had the budget you could put some marketing dollars behind your products and possibly make sales.?

Now in the socialmedia age you have to be more strategic.

You have to bring some balance to the consumer.

If You want their dollars  you have to give them what they want.

The benefits have to be mutually beneficial.

Remember you are making an exchange.

Products and services for money.

Before you even think about selling an  item you have to give solutions .

You have to demonstrate  not prove or convince anyone . Your job us to deliver the value .

The value you offer will sell the product on it’s own.

In The initial  conversation there is no ask for the sale eventhough you can possibly convert the person into a buyer.

If you have built up strong brand equity you will get sales from customer referrals and partly from reputation the first time around.

But it takes work to get to that level but you can do it.

All you have to do is be patient and engage with the community.

Closed mouths do not get fed but If you make the wrong move at the wrong time it will take you longer to reach your goal.

Think about where you want to be and how you are going to go about it.

All company goals should be discussed with staff and every member of the team should know what is going on.

There is no time to cause chaos , jealousy in the camp.

Conclusion 

Remember that value is what leads to sales. Your inventory will not move if you cannot sell.

This is why more marketes and businesses should use the indirect selling methods .

There will be a hell of a lot less inventory markdowns which means you have to put on sales to move slow moving inventory.

More upfront work but less headaches.
