Yes you should promote your business directly but not in an intrusive way .
Jab Jab right hook written by Garry V is a good book to read on this subject matter .
Most people marketing on social media don’t have the patience or are unaware of how to market to their audience.
Yes there is more than 1 way to market but a lot has to do with building brand equity and community .
Things get a lot easier when people know you like you and trust you .
Another thing to do is make sure your direct adverts are enhancing people’s over all experiences .
People don’t mind seeing ads but they don’t like being annoyed .
Majority if not all of the ads that pop up on YouTube are more of an inconvenience .
This is why you have to learn to blend your advertisements in .
In order to get peoples attention you have to draw them in .
When I see an ad I want to see or hear something that is going to educate me make me smile etc .
I don’t want to see an ad pop up saying “buy my product ” because it is boring and Spammy .
You some what have to entertain people .
Depending on what you want to achieve you can use a video tutorial or a reel as your lead magnet and a sprinkle of personality .
Image ads ,Carousel ads ,Poll ads , Slide show ads .
You can use any one of the methods but be a little creative .
The brands that have the ability to captivate peoples minds are going to win.
The goal is to captivate people and give them a unique experience .
Once you give them a good sample to get a taste in their mouths they will get hooked .
The introduction of your ad should mesmerize people.
You only have a few seconds to grab a person’s attention but if you don’t do do it right they’ll be gone .
The next time you post an ad check out your audience retention rate .
If you see viewers dropping off early it could mean your introduction or video quality needs to be improved .
If viewers are watching long enough and your opt-in rate is low your Call to action might need to be tweaked .
Like I said your marketing should compliment the viewers experience not interrupt it.
It doesn’t take much to come up with a concept that people will enjoy .
It all depends on the state of mind you are in .
If you are of the mindset that you should get the sale now your ad conversions will be lower .
If you are creative and having fun with it the outcome is not going to be different .
I could take excerpts of my content and create a carousel post and get tons of likes and new followers on my page .
Either way a person selling directly and a person marketing indirectly buying ads has 1thing in common .
Both parties are spending money on ads.
So why not get more for your money ?
If you spend 50 dollars on ads promoting your product and I spend 50 dollars promoting my skill sets I will end up with a higher conversation rate .
When I talk about conversion rates I am talking about people not just money but in this instance I am talking about converting people i to email subscribers as well .
The more targeted people that subscribe to my email list or like my fan page the better off I will be .
Lets say people do know you like you and trust and you put out an ad but they don’t have any money to buy at the time . Because your timing is off your conversion rates will be lower .
I could do the same thing except I will promote content instead of my product . I will not get any sales on the front end but on the back and I will plus I will get more subscribers .
It is not difficult but you do have to create a balance but even then mistakes will be made as is expected . Pace yourself
Conclusion
You can make a lot of progress on social media if you have the right mindset and a willingness to put in the work .
