Social media is a peoples game, not just a numbers Game
- Top line
- bottom line
- operating cost
- expenditures are important I get it.
In fact, so much emphasis is placed on the numbers that we totally abandon the social aspect of it.
It is like we forget that we are interacting with humans.
Which is a dangerous road to be traveling to?
Outside of that and botts, most of the accounts are governed by humans.
So Yes There is more to Social media than buying and selling.
The key word is (social) but when you take that out of the equation what do you have left?
Hence why so many brands are spamming.
Pushing products and services down peoples throats is a turn-off.
Furthermore Being salsey is a quick way to lose customers.
Some of us think Because we are in business we are the exception to certain rules.
The attitude is almost like sell, sell at all cost, no build up or interaction.
Take for example a few years back when the lights went out at the super bowl.
Oreos tweeted (you can always dunk in the dark)
I do not know the exact number but the tweet garnered a lot of retweets.
Oreos won big time with that power move.
Those are the Monuments people remember.
For that point on Oreos will forever be etched in many hearts minds.
Who you think is going to pop up in peoples minds the next time people wants cookies?
The move was cheeky and cute.
But like any other tool you have to use it properly.
The brands that are winning are the ones connecting with the people.
They make it about their customers.
They do not try to exploit People.
People are a lot smarter then you think, they are not easily fooled.
They read and search google for answers.
They investigate you before buying from you.
And if there is anything causing doubt in their minds then they would not buy from you or they would question you.
Customers are cautious, they make you earn your right to sell to them.
Change with time. Focus on servicing the needs of your demographics in the market.
Maybe sometime in the future, that might change but in the meantime, that rule remains the same.
Social media =game changer.
If your business is not online then you will lose a lot of ground to your competitors.
Furthermore, the Majority of the population in the western hemisphere is on social media.

Add this to the fact that the united states are the largest economy.
China is second.
With that being said how do you expect to grow if you are not online?
On another note, there are stories of businesses thriving offline.
But for how long?
Put yourself in the position to grow. Growth is something you cannot accomplish standing still.
Steer your business in the right direction.
Modernize.
Improvise, adjust your social media strategy.
Even if it means breaking away from old traditional tactics that no longer serve a purpose.
Gearing yourself and your business for the people.
A people-centered brand is essential
After taking into consideration what I have said how do you feel now?
Remember to pause and reflect so that you can focus on the parts of your business that need attention.
It is easy to get caught up in a bubble.
We forget that servicing people is everything.
There are brands out there kicking ass because they are customer orientated.
If you ask me, I think anyone starting a business online stands a fair chance.
In order for that to happen, You have to get to know the people.
Reaching out to people showing up and showing out.
Get in the hearts and minds of the people.
showing up giving out pointers helps position you as an authority.
Getting busy is the way to keep moving forward.
As long as you are pushing forward progress can be made.
There is no laying back and sitting idle.
Once that fire starts burning
Keep it lit.
Do not allow anyone to blow your candle out.
The brands out there growing too know how important it is to keep the momentum.
Peep this ;
Social media is addictive. You can search and find any piece of information.
So If you are not popping up in search or going viral then you have a problem on your hands.
You need to be found.
Standing out in the midst of the noise.
It is all in or nothing.
if you are focused innovative and people are driven You will be able to cut through the noise.
There are opportunities for major growth.
Here is a list of the things You should not do.
Abandoning your site
Lack of communicating
Misleading people
Making promises
People will talk about you. Any bad reviews about your company need to be rectified immediately.
If not Your reputation can be tarnished.
Stay in tune and in touch with your fan base.
Take pride in what you do, take pride in customer service.
People will take note.
Never take people for granted.
Be honest and forthcoming.
The best way to win peoples hearts is by being honest reliable and value orientated
Increase your productivity.
The more value you provide the better off you will be.
The trick is to solve customer issues.
Use The people as brand advocates.
Make them a priority and you shall blossom.
Soon It will get to a point where it is like having a cult following.
But there are no hacks or push button software.
Nothing but Hard work on your behalf.
Especially During the early stages when no one knows about your products and services.
You have to work harder in order to build up your reputation.
Then after all the heavy lifting is done all you have do is keep showing up and delivering.
Always be on the lookout for gaps
oreo did it when the lights went out at the super bowl
It is about making the moments memorable.
1 tweet can change peoples perception of your brand.
Being able to accommodate your customers in a time of need.
Here is what you have to understand.
Social media is driven by people and people have feelings.
Maybe one of your customers might be venting frustration online.
So you can pop up to offer emotional support deliver a friendship card or steep discount on one of your most sought after products and services.
Being able to connect intimately is crucial.
A lot of brands fail to understand business beyond buying and selling.
And that is why so many fails.
Just imagine complimenting or offering moral support to someone.
Your business will forever be on thief hearts and minds.
That is how you win people over.
You cannot grow without them.
The relationship is key. You have to take the time to know and learn your customers.
Doing so allows you to organize and design a business model that is people focused.
But I think We have gotten it twisted and made it about ourselves.
And then wonder why we cannot grow.
As Businessman marketers bloggers we must take responsibility.
- Grip the bull by the horns
- There is no easy way
- Stop trying to escape
- Using cheap tactics
- Get busy
The game is played 365 days per year seven days per week.
The shot clock never runs out but your window of opportunity will close.
So if you do not grab the moment someone else will steal your shine.
Here is what I think you need.
A team of dedicated people working as a co-cohesive unit ready to pounce on opportunities.
That time when you take center stage.
The time when people are ready to shop and your brand is automatically first in their minds.
If you want people to consider your company first put the people first.
All your social media strategies should be designed with a people first approach
Customers do not need businesses the businesses need the clientele to survive.
I think more brands should adopt a customer orientated approach.
The people dictate the trends. They are the ones buying and making returns.
It is powerful when you give your clients the attention they so richly deserve.
It is they who elevate your level to the next level.
As long as you understand who advocates and endorses your brand then there is hope.
So, therefore, the situation is mutual.
You have to give up front so that you can get in return.
I like to look at myself as a service provider.
The more I do things in a way that lifts and inspires the more I benefit.
I do not want you walking around thinking you have to do it all and get nothing in return.
Do all the heavy lifting as a producer and provider yes.
In other words, provide as much information as you can for the customer.
Make the transition smooth.
So By the time you finish talking and advertising you pretty much alleviate all their fears.
That is my definition of successful marketing.
That is one of away growing outside of introducing new products and services.
You have to keep that buzz afloat long after people mention you.
You want to be the one people know like and trust.
Trust gives you the keys to their wallets.
And you know leadership comes in the form of sales and profit too right?
That is absolutely right.
You see, the game is much much bigger than what I imagine.
I didn’t know what an expenditure was.
Now that I know better I can do better as a marketer.
My competency level was very low.
But hey, we all learn some way or the other so I have to give my self a pat on the back.
I am Not going to toot my horn too much lol ..forgive me.
I took the time out to learn to get up to speed.
You only get out what you put in. If you are not doing anything in life do not expect the returns.
So if you are not investing time and energy into the people do not expect sales and glamour.
It takes hard work strategy and consistency to make progress in this day and time.
You should definitely keep your eyes open and be ready for change.
Take a look at the industry leaders like Apple Amazon you will see that they invest a lot of money into research and development.
Apple and Amazon are almost always producing new products services or buying growth through acquisitions in Amazons Case.
See growth comes in many ways but the most important ways to grow is producing new products and services.
Moreover, you have to back that up with good servicing product improvements marketing advertising to keep your existing customer base happy and running back.
I hope that you take my words as a source of hope and inspiration because we all need it from time to time.
Digital marketing does not have to be a dog eat dog world.
There is a saying that goes like this “Marketers ruin everything” which is true.
We get on platforms spam and clutter group feeds.
The onus is on us to take responsibility for our actions.
We have got to learn to utilize the people.
Remember it is the buyer that dictate the tempo, not us.
We have to adjust and market our campaigns accordingly.
The old guerrilla marketing tactics are not effective.
The world has changed so we have to embrace it.
You cannot be rigid and expect to grow, it won’t work out in your favor.
Be more universal and flexible with your approach.
Building up the trust in the minds of the consumer sooner or later will help you build up equity.
Business owners have to be willing to give and trust team players
The more you entrust, share responsibility with your staff the more productive they shall be.
(Everybody thinks that it is impossible until it is done ‘”-Nelson Mandela)
Thank you for joining me. Today you will learn 10 winning social media strategies.
Social media is similar to a sports match where teamwork comes into play, so If you want to win this game you need to stand out and be a valuable team player.
Now, let’s get into the tips that I promised to share with you.
Tip#1
Network! You build a relationship and build trust. Once you build trust the door is open for sales. You would be surprised at how many marketers overlook this Simple step.
If you have the discipline and patience to follow through I guarantee that you will be one up.
Tip#2
Conversate within your community, No one will know who you are if you don’t open your mouth. Don’t just talk just for the sake of it, do it to add value to the community.
Tip#3
Don’t be robotic, if someone likes, comments, sends you a message take the time out to respond, show them that you are authentic and reasonable. A Person that cares.
Tip# 4
Don’t get caught up into the hype and sales gimmicks that you see your fellow marketers involved in.
What I am talking about here is an affiliate snapshot of earnings.
When you are not making sales and others are you can easily get drawn into the moment.
Doing so can cause you to go into a buying frenzy and lose focus. To top it off, when you do come back to reality you will be a few steps further behind the eight ball.
I know first hand what it is like buying up affiliate programs stressing. That in itself is a distraction!
Tip#5
Be truthful with your prospects. When you are prospecting when your prospect asks “have you made any money” don’t be ashamed to say no.
Furthermore, you don’t need to make sales first to make a sale, if that was the case there would be no salesman on the planet.
There is not one marketer that I know that arrived online with all the accolades of a salesman.
Tip#6
Be a brand that uplifts, not one that seeks to destroy competition. You can read Guy Kawasaki’s post the art of branding to get more information.
https://guykawasaki.com/the-art-of-branding/
Tip#7
Look for loopholes in the market. In other words, find out what is going on. Get to date and find out what needs aren’t being met in the market.
Tip#8
The relationship is key but doesn’t try to fool others into thinking that you are online knowing full well you are online to do business.
Tip#9
Be open and transparent with others. Show some vulnerabilities and strengths in the public eyes.
This means that you should be willing to answer questions and solve problems from your timeline or your prospect’s timeline.
Another quick way to build trust is to ask your fellow marketers for help in public and admit when you have done wrong.
You might not see the benefits right now but rest assured you will reap benefits in the long-run.
Tip#10
The more you read up on your niche the better you will be. So when you answer questions and share what you know you would be able to distinguish yourself.
Become knowledgeable.
Tip#11
Go beyond and over for your clients especially when you screw up.
Form a group
12 The internet is the hub and you are the DJ selecting and playing.
13 Differetiate yourself by standing out Do not clog up the socialmedia feeds with spam.Share value
